A registration notice with the dates and times is placed in the Paris News and on this website, and fliers are distributed at local schools. New players will need to bring a birth certificate to register, and the cost per season is $45. Players will need cleated soccer shoes, shin guards, soccer socks that cover the shin guards when worn, shorts, and a team jersey. The jerseys are purchased from Kings Sports and the other items can be purchased from Kings or one of the other sporting goods stores. You might also purchase a soccer ball for practice at home. Be sure to purchase the correct size ball for your league. U6 and U8 use a size 3 ball. U11 uses a size 4 ball. U14 and older use a size 5 ball. If you have any questions regarding what you need to purchase, please ask your coach or the league commissioner. For the games, you will need water or a sports drink and may want snacks for halftime. These are available at the concession stand.
If you’ve played before and you are not moving up to the next age group, you will remain on the same team as the previous season unless you request otherwise. New players in each league are distributed among the teams during the draft, which occurs the week after registration ends. You will then be contacted by your new coach.
